PATHWAYS

All subject offerings are dependent on student numbers.

Tertiary & Vocational Pathway (TVP)

Purpose:

This pathway is designed to prepare students to continue onto tertiary studies or to transition to work and

to receive a Tertiary Selection Rank and a QCE. To gain entrance to tertiary institutions (in Queensland only)

students are awarded a Tertiary Selection Rank that is calculated using levels of achievement in both

Authority and Authority Registered Subjects and from any Certificate III or higher course completed prior to

the end of Year 12. A schedule is used to convert these levels to a Tertiary Selection Rank which is used by

QTAC to allocate tertiary entrance places.

The Tertiary and Vocational Pathway is designed to give students a wide range of skills. School-based

traineeships, TAFE courses and/or work experience are an essential element of this program and students

are required to spend one day per week at a placement off campus.

Requirements:

Two years of study with a combination of 5 senior subjects, 1 school based subject (Pathways) plus the study

of an additional certificate outside of the College that is monitored through the Pathways program. A

maximum of 4 Authority subjects may be selected.
