The Alumnae Association of St Rita’s College provides the means through which past students across all years reconnect and maintain strong connections with their peers and the College. We aim to ensure that our continued engagement with members of our community is of value and interest to them, as well as of benefit to current students.

Sr Elvera Sesta, pbvm, early boarder, past student, educator, former Principal and current staff member is Patron of the Association.

Alumnae Initiatives

Annual High Tea

A High Tea is hosted by the Alumnae in Term 3 each year. The event is a calendar highlight and tickets are quickly booked out. The funds raised are donated to the College to provide two part short term bursaries for the continued education of students from families in need.

Magazine

Virtute is the Alumnae Association’s bi-annual publication. Please update your contact details to ensure you keep receiving it digitally. Printed copies are available on request.

Click here to read the latest Virtute online.

Celebrating Alumna achievements is a key focus on the Association and we use Virtute as a vehicle to share these stories. Please advise the Committee of inspirational achievements of any past pupil by emailing alumnae@stritas.qld.edu.au.

Reunions

Reunions of the classes are keenly encouraged. Ballygriffin, the magnificent function and meeting facility at the top of the Nagle Centre, is a perfect onsite venue for this purpose and, if available, Sr Elvera is always happy to accommodate tours of the campus for reunions.

The Alumnae Association contributes the Ballygriffin hire fee of $250.00 for groups wishing to return to the College for reunion events. Terms and conditions apply.

Please remember when organising your Reunion to inform the Alumnae Association (alumnae@stritas.qld.edu.au ) so that communication can be activated to assist the smooth organisation of the event.

When drafting your invitations, permission must be sought through the Alumnae Association for use of the College Crest on your material.

The College Archivist may also be able to assist with photographic and other visual material to enhance school day memories at your Reunion. The Alumnae Association can facilitate contact with the Archivist. Please contact alumnae@stritas.qld.edu.au.

When advertising your Reunion and creating your invitations, the ‘Class of XXXX’ is the final year of the graduating class and includes all students who were within that cohort at some stage of schooling regardless of when they left St Rita’s. i.e. the Class of 1979 includes not only the graduating Year 12s of 1979, but all students who completed their schooling prior to Year 12. The Alumnae Association can assist with checking your invitation content.

The Alumnae is committed to the professional mentoring and networking of our young alumnae. Whether it is through networking events, one on one mentoring, Careers Day involvement or a range of other initiatives, the Alumnae welcomes ideas and requests from the Alumnae community.
