Alumnae Our College

The St Rita’s College Alumnae Association enables past students across the decades to maintain strong connections with their peers and the College. The Alumnae Association aims to ensure engagement with past students is of value and interest, as well as being of benefit to current students.

Sr Elvera Sesta, pbvm, OAM, early boarder, past student, awarded educator, former Principal and current staff member is Patron of the Association.

Annual High Tea

A High Tea is hosted by the Alumnae in Term 3 each year. The event is a calendar highlight and tickets quickly book out. The funds raised are donated to the College to provide two part bursaries for the education of students from families in need.

College Academic Sponsorships

In recent years the Alumnae has proudly provided funding to the College Music Department, through the awarding of two student grants.

Applications for grants and other support can be addressed to the Alumnae Association President, via alumnae@stritas.qld.edu.au.

Mentoring

The Alumnae is committed to the professional mentoring and networking of current and past students through events, one-on-one mentoring, Careers Day involvement and a range of other initiatives. The Alumnae welcomes ideas and requests from the Alumnae community.

Prix d’Honneur Award

The Alumnae are the Sponsor of the coveted Prix d’Honneur Award, presented at the College’s Annual Thanksgiving Celebration.

Reunions

Reunions are keenly encouraged. Ballygriffin, the magnificent function and meeting facility in the Nagle Centre, is a perfect onsite venue for this purpose and, if available, Sr Elvera is always happy to accommodate tours of the campus for reunions.

The Alumnae Association subsidises the Ballygriffin hire fee for groups wishing to return to the College for reunion events. Terms and conditions apply.

Please remember to communicate with the Alumnae Association when organising your reunion. Permission must be sought for use of the College Crest on your material. The College Archivist may also be able to assist with photographic and other visual material to enhance school day memories at your Reunion. Please contact alumnae@stritas.qld.edu.au

When advertising your Reunion and creating your invitations, the ‘Class of XXXX’ is the final year of the graduating class and includes all students who were within that cohort at some stage of schooling, regardless of when they left St Rita’s. i.e. the Class of 1979 includes the graduating Year 12 students of 1979 and all students of the cohort who left the College for whatever reason prior to Year 12, regardless of how long they were at the College. The Alumnae Association can assist with checking your invitation content.
