Library

The Nano Nagle Resource Centre fosters wonderment and awe by promoting intellectual curiosity, academic risk taking, and the holistic development of students and staff at St Rita’s College.

The library is integral to the literacy, learning and intellectual pursuits of the College by creating an environment in which a rich participatory culture of learning can flourish. Central to this is a vast collection of physical and digital resources that supports both reading and academic inquiry. Students also benefit from expert guidance from the library team, including qualified librarians who support reading and research. Additionally, the teacher librarians work across all year levels to instil a love of reading and develop students’ information fluency skills, which empower them to be critical information consumers and creators.

The lower level of the library offers unique spaces and quality resources for learning and collaboration within the primary and middle school years. The dedicated Senior Study Hub on the top level of the library provides Year 10-12 students with an ideal space for focused study and research. This floor also houses a collection of reference materials and study guides that cater to the needs of senior students.

Library Website

The Library website provides 24/7 access to high-quality resources to support students’ recreational and academic needs. The platform enables students to access the catalogue of physical resources, and to borrow eBooks, audiobooks, and video content. It also provides access to the Research Guides, which include a range of curated research and online academic databases related to students’ assessment.

The project promotes a literacy-rich culture through a calendar of events that champions readers, writers, and creators. The Think Project provides opportunities for our community to engage with writers, illustrators, public speakers, creatives and other literature enthusiasts through book launches, author talks and Q&As, workshops, conferences, and the author in residence program.
