Administration

College Reception is located in the foyer of the Nano Nagle Centre. It is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday during the school term and operates reduced hours over school holiday breaks. The College is closed for two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period.

Student Services and the Health Centre are located in the Sacred Heart building and are open from 7.30am to 3.30pm each school day.

Community Code of Conduct

Our College Community Code of Conduct provides guidelines for the effective development of positive relationships within our community and assists in promoting behaviours that are in keeping with our vision and values.

The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to assist in:

  • creating a climate of care in the College based on Gospel Values;
  • promoting the development of quality relationships which are based on our six pillars of Compassion, Hospitality, Simplicity, Courage, Justice, and Hope;
  • developing satisfying, relevant learning experiences that enhance respect, self-discipline, initiative, responsibility, creativity, leadership and a sense of achievement;
  • establishing an effective care network leading to personal growth and support.

The College Community Code of Conduct is published on MySRC.

College Communications

MySRC

MySRC is the College’s online portal environment, connecting students, parents, caregivers, and staff. Through this platform you can access information and resources relevant to your family, including College newsletters, academic resources, cocurricular notices, event invitations and policies. It also provides a central gateway to update vital information such as medical or address details, and access to student academic results and progress throughout the school year.

Each parent and caregiver has a unique login and your personal login credentials are issued to you via email. If you forget your password, MySRC has a password assistance function on the sign in page. If you are still unable to sign in there is a Support and Feedback button at the bottom of the page.

You can access MySRC via the top menu of the St Rita’s College website and also through the College Mobile App.

Once logged in to MySRC you will be able to view:

  • Your child’s timetable, classes, and teacher email addresses.
  • Due dates for assessable work for each subject, with feedback on the assessment where relevant.
  • Continuous Reporting information.
  • Information on co-curriculuar activities and schedules.
  • Your own contact details for checking (and updating if required).
  • Your child’s House information.
  • College News and the College Calendar.
  • Links to useful College information.
  • Cocurricular activity information and schedules.
  • Parent Directory information (if you choose to participate).
  • Parent support groups you can join (click Join a Group or Activity from the side menu).

The MySRC Parent User Guide contains information to help parents:

  • Navigate the Parent Dashboard and News Feature
  • Navigate the Parent Hub
  • Navigate the Primary Years Hub
  • Receive the daily MySRC News Summary Email
  • Share your details in the Parent Directory.

Newsletter - Verbis

Verbis is the College newsletter, published online each fortnight and distributed through the College App and MySRC. Parents and Guardians are asked to read the newsletter every fortnight as it is a source of important information for the whole school community.

Consent Forms and Care Information

St Rita’s College uses the health, safety and electronic consent form system Consent2Go to track and store student care information.

This system provides a parent and caregiver controlled electronic medical form to assist us in providing care for students. Parents and caregivers can update medical information online, providing College staff with instant access to the most accurate emergency information.

Consent2Go is an electronic version of the paper based forms previously filled in for excursions and camps etc.

Consent2Go is accessed via MySRC and is used to store student details including:

  • Emergency contacts (in the event that parents cannot be contacted in the first instance).
  • Medical contacts.
  • Medical checklist including asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes etc.
  • Notes and other care instructions from parents and caregivers such as information about required medications.

Parents and caregivers will receive an email invitation from the College to join Consent2Go to complete their child’s profile. The information you enter will only be visible to relevant staff tasked with the care of your child and is managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Please contact the College if you have any questions or visit Consent2Go for more information.

Contacting Staff and Students

Contacting Staff

Please contact the relevant staff member via College Reception and/or email available in MySRC. Key contact information is listed above in College Contacts.

Contacting Students

All contact with students during the school day must be made via Student Services on (07) 3860 7171, and a message will be shared with the student. Students are not permitted to carry or access their mobile phone during school hours.

Health Centre and Medication

Students who are unwell

The College takes the possible spread of illness seriously and students who are unwell must remain at home. If your child is unwell in the morning prior to leaving for school, they must not attend school that day.

If your child becomes unwell with any illness whilst at school, they are to report to the Health Centre, located near Student Services, where they will be assessed by the College Nurse or First Aid Officer.

Parents and caregivers will be contacted for immediate collection of their child if it is deemed they should not be at school. Students may only enter the Health Centre for temporary respite.

  • The College carries a zero tolerance policy with any flu like symptoms.
  • Students who require collection from Student Services due to illness or injury must be picked up by a parent or caregiver within one hour of being notified.
  • Students are not to independently telephone their parents or caregivers to request to be collected if they are unwell.
  • The College Health Centre is for temporary respite only.

Administration of Medication

Students are not permitted to carry medication in their bags or on their person during the school day, except for emergency medications such as EpiPens, Anapens, Ventolin and Insulin.

All medications must be delivered to the Health Centre at the beginning of the school day where they can be safely stored. Students who require assistance to administer their medication to manage their health condition are to visit the Health Centre, where the College Nurse or College staff will provide necessary support.

For all Prescribed medications to be administered to a student during school hours and/or during school related events, the College must be provided with:

  • Parental/ Caregiver consent granted via Consent2Go
  • The medication in its original, intact packaging, with a completed pharmacy label with both the student’s and doctor’s name on it
  • Where applicable, an accompanying Health Plan/ Action Plan

Over the Counter (OTC) Medications

The Health Centre only keeps a limited supply of OTC medication for emergencies and injuries that occur during the school day. The College will not administer any OTC medications e.g. Paracetamol, without Parental/ Caregiver consent via the students Consent2Go profile.

If your child requires OTC medication on a as needed basis, please provide this medication with a completed pharmacy label with both the student and doctor’s name on to the Health Centre.

Routine and as-needed medication

Examples of “Routine” and “As-needed” medication are, Antibiotics, Ritalin, antihistamines, and pain relief. To safely administer these types of medications the College must be provided with:

  • Parental/ caregiver consent granted via Consent2Go to administer medication
  • The medication in its original, intact packaging, with a completed and current pharmacy label/ medical authorisation.
  • Where applicable, an accompanying Health Plan/Action Plan

Where you will need additional written information from you practitioner

The College will need additional written information from the prescribed practitioner if you daughter:

  • Requires medication as an emergency response to a health condition.

Depending on your child’s health condition, your doctor will need to complete a specific Action Plan (e.g., Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Diabetes) and/or provide written instructions if your child has more complex needs. Action Plans are to be uploaded via the student’s Consent2Go profile.

It is requested that parents and caregivers regularly review and update their child’s Consent2Go profile to ensure that the College has accurate medical information.

Place your order by Friday 5 December 2025 to ensure delivery before the Christmas/New Year break.

Device specifications and requirements

  • Approved Devices: Students can choose between either an Apple MacBook or a Windows Laptop. Tablets, Chromebooks, and other devices are not permitted in this program due to software compatibility and performance concerns.
  • Specifications: The device must meet the following minimum specifications:
    • Apple Devices
      • Processor: Apple M2 or greater
      • RAM: 16GB minimum
      • Storage: 256GB SSD
      • Operating System: macOS Sonoma or later
    • Windows Devices:
      • Processor: 12th Gen Intel i5 or later (or equivalent)
      • RAM: 16GB minimum
      • Storage: 256GB SSD
      • Operating System: Windows 11
    • Other Requirements:
      • All devices must have a webcam, and microphone.
      • Wi-Fi Capabilities:
        • Devices must support the latest wireless standards, specifically Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) or higher, to ensure compatibility with the college’s Enterprise Wireless Infrastructure.
        • Devices must support 802.1x authentication to connect securely to the college’s network, ensuring encrypted communication and secure access to internal resources.
        • WPA2-Enterprise or WPA3-Enterprise authentication protocols are required to meet the security standards of the college network.

Software Requirements

  • All Students are provided the following software by the College:
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Antivirus Protection

Students may also be required to install other subject-specific software as outlined by individual departments.

Laptop Care and Security

When purchasing a device, we strongly recommend purchasing:

  • A high-quality protective hardcover case for all student devices. Suitable options are available on the BYOD Purchasing Portal.
  • 3yr Device Warranty that includes Accidental Damage Protection (AppleCare+ for Apple Macs).

When caring for your device, we recommend:

  • Laptops are to be kept either with the student or securely stored in lockers throughout the school day
  • Laptops must be left in their protective hard case. These cases are designed to provide adequate air flow while the device is on and in use.
  • Care should be taken when opening and closing the laptop lid to ensure there is nothing left between the screen and keyboard that could cause damage e.g. pens, headphones, paperclips, stapled paper, and cables etc
  • Laptops should NOT be stored near water bottles or left in direct sunlight.

What happens if a student device gets damaged?

In the unfortunate event of a device being damaged, students will take their device to the St Rita’s IT Services Department for initial assessment. Once assessed, our Service Desk staff will advise whether the device requires further assessment and/or repair. If so, we will organise for an Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) to attend site and make further assessment. Parents will receive contact to provide updates on the repair including quotes for associated service fees or repair costs. Our AASP will never conduct or charge you for a repair without your approval.

You will be notified once the device has been repaired and is ready for collection. The College can support all device repairs where the purchase is made through the provided BYOD Purchasing Portal. We can also support other Apple Mac device repairs that have been purchased through an alternate retailer of your choice. Unfortunately, we cannot offer service support for other non-Apple devices purchased through an alternate retailer of your choice.

While a student’s device is with us for repair, the College can provide a Loan Laptop. Prior to any student being issued a loan laptop, parents must first agree to and sign our Student Loan Device T&Cs. A Student Loan Device T&Cs form will be provided at the beginning of each school year for all parents to sign. We can also support Long Term Device Loans for students in need. Long term loans are handled on a case-by-case basis, and a different T&Cs form will be provided for parents to sign at the time of the request.

Device Program - Years 5-6

St Rita’s provides a school-managed technology device for Year 5 and Year 6 students.

The benefits of a managed device program include:

  • Enhanced IT security in line with the College security framework.
  • Ability to simultaneously push out software updates and other enhancements to all devices by the College’s IT team, maximising the use of devices as a learning tool.
  • Consistency of devices across all students, to assist in learning outcomes and provide for an earlier engagement with NAPLAN testing.
  • Onboarding of devices by the College.
  • Access to IT support on campus including repairs and loan devices while repairs are being undertaken.
  • The opportunity for families to pay for a significant expense over an extended period via school fees rather than as a lump sum. Students will receive their device in class during the second week of Term 1. Teaching and IT staff will conduct safe use of technology and familiarity workshops with Year 5 students.

The device will be a loan device for Years 5 and 6, with an annual fee being included in the Technology Levy over the two-year period.

Technology usage, Security and Storage

To support Primary Years with their devices it is recommended students:

  • Use devices in class time only for home room classes and specialist lessons
  • Only use devices after school when working in cocurricular groups, at homework club or other teacher-led activities
  • Not use devices in the Library during lunchtime, before or after school if not in a teacher-directed group
  • Always have a fully-charged device every morning (charging stations can be accessed during break times)
  • Remove devices from bags every morning and place into designated device holders
  • Use devices on solid surfaces and tables only (never place devices on the floor) • Carry devices in the Primary Book Satchel when moving around the College
  • Keep devices in a hardcover case at all times, even when turned on, as cases are designed to provide adequate air flow.
  • Do not store devices near water bottles or leave in direct sunlight.

Mobile Phones and Devices

Acceptable Use of mobile phones and listening devices are listed in the College mobile phone policy, published on MySRC. All students and parents and guardians are asked to familiarise themselves with this Policy.

Key points from the College's Acceptable Use of Mobile Phones Policy

Rules for student use of mobile phones during the school day include:

  • Mobile phones must be turned off and locked in student lockers from 8.30am-3.05pm (Years 7-12)
  • Mobile phones are to be handed in to class teachers at the beginning of each day (Years 5-6)
  • Students are not permitted to use their mobile phones (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay) to pay for items or services at any facility of the College, including the Pantry, the Boutique and their printing accounts from the Library. Students are required to use a credit/debit card.
  • The College accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged mobile phones.
  • The College accepts no responsibility for students who lose or have their mobile phone stolen while traveling to and from the College.
  • It is strongly advised that students use passwords/pin numbers/fingerprint verification to avoid unauthorised use of their phones (e.g. by other students, or if stolen). Students should keep their password/pin numbers confidential.
  • All parent/guardian contact during the school day with your daughter/s must be made via Student Services on (07) 3860 7171.

A mobile phone may only be used under explicit teacher instruction, for that lesson only. If a mobile phone/device is seen during school hours it will be confiscated. Similarly, students are not to wear headphones, ear buds, earphones or AirPods unless under direct teacher instruction.

Primary Students

If a Primary student requires a mobile phone for safety when travelling to and from school, we strongly encourage parental controls are activated and that the device is closely monitored.

All versions of mobile phones and smart watches are handed in at the start of each day and handed back to students at the end of day bell, even if they are on School Mode.

Pantry (Tuckshop)

Pantry Opening Hours

Throughout the school year students and staff enjoy a diverse, delicious, and nutritious Pantry menu designed to satisfy hungry stomachs and minds.

The Pantry operates five days a week, during term time, offering breakfast from 7.30am each morning. Pantry hours during the week are Monday to Thursday 7:30am- 3:45pm and Friday 7:30am- 2:04pm.

Qualified chefs prepare a weekly hot lunch menu, revised each Term, along with a selection of fresh wraps, salads, sushi, cold drinks and sweet treats.

Pantry menus are available via MySRC.

Lunches can be pre-ordered online, where you can place and pay for an order for a single day, or place and pay for orders for multiple days in a single week. All online orders are required by 9.00am for same-day orders.

Students in Years 7 -12 collect their online orders at lunchtime from the Pantry window, while Years 5-6 students have their lunch orders delivered to their classrooms.

Pantry payment

Students may also visit the Pantry during breaks to select and pay for their items. In store payment can be made via credit/debit card/eftposcard at the Pantry. Mobile phone and smart watch payments are not accepted.

Pantry Volunteers

Parent and caregiver volunteers are welcome to support our Pantry operations. Full training is provided as volunteers work alongside our dedicated Pantry team. If you are able to offer your support and join the Pantry Volunteer Roster, the Pantry team would love to hear from you! Calls for volunteers are made throughout the year, or you can contact the Pantry via pantry@stritas.qld.edu.au. Volunteers are required to complete a standard Volunteer Declaration.

Parking, Drop Off, and Pick Up

Parking and Traffic Management

When visiting the campus parents are to park in the streets surrounding the College (eg. Enderley Road, Liverpool Road, Craven Street and other streets) and walk to Main Reception. Students are not to be driven onto campus and there is no parent parking or parent vehicle access to College grounds during the School day.

Drop off and Pick Up Information For All Students

  • All drivers are requested to drive safely and be particularly cautious of pedestrian traffic at drop off and pick up times.
  • A crossing on Enderley Road is operational between the hours of 7.50am to 8.40am and from 2.50pm to 3.40pm, when the Crossing Supervisor is present and flags are in place. During these hours, all students and any parents coming on to campus are to use the crossing.
  • Enderley Road has signage installed by Brisbane City Council providing a two minute set-down zone to separate short term parking from all-day parking.

  • Adhere to the two-minute set-down zone timeframes between the College Enderley Road driveways. Failure to do so is in breach of Council laws. Please do not park or wait in this zone for any period longer than 2 minutes.
  • Do not to stop or park in areas which are marked with yellow lines or ‘witches hats’, including the yellow lined resident driveways opposite the front of the College in Enderley Road.
  • Be respectful of our neighbours - don’t park, drop off or pick up across residential or College driveways.
  • The College requests cooperation and respect by all drivers (staff, parents and students) in adhering to traffic and parking laws and maintaining property access for local residents.
  • Students are not to be driven onto the College grounds. Pedestrian traffic only is permitted (except for delivery or staff vehicles).
  • No students are to enter or exit the College via the Stafford Street entrance as this is a high traffic area with staff cars entering and exiting the College.

Year 5 Pick Up Information

Year 5 parents using the internal driveway pick up are not to queue across the College driveway nor in Enderley Road waiting for the driveway boom gate to open at 3.20pm. If the boom gate is down, please go around the block until it is opened. The Enderley Road Tennis Court Driveway boomgate will open for Year 5 parent vehicle traffic from 3.20pm to 3.40pm

At this time, parent vehicles are permitted to enter the College to collect their daughter from the designated pick up zone outside Stanley Hall. Please follow the driveway around to the top, collect your daughter from the Stanley Hall pick up zone, and immediately continue on to move off campus via the Pool Driveway. This is a continual traffic flow pick up system. Parents are not to park on campus and attend to other matters.

After 3.40pm, the boomgate will be lowered. Students who have not been picked up by this time will move to Student Services where parents will be contacted.

Year 5 students and families are to adhere to the Drop Off information listed above.

School Accounts and Fees

It is essential for the effective operation of the College, as well as its continued efficient financial management, that fee accounts are paid on time. We appreciate parent support in making the payment of school fees a priority.

Schedule of Fees

The schedule of fees is distributed in November each year after notification of government funding for the next year. Fee Accounts for St Rita’s College are issued in January each year and are payable within 30 days. The College partners with FACTS Online Payment Portal as a flexible way of managing payments throughout the year. Co-curricular activities, camps and excursions are invoiced by Term.

Social Media and Information Technologies Use Policy

St Rita’s College recognises that access to technology in school gives students, staff and parents greater opportunities to learn, engage, and communicate.

The College uses, as appropriate, social networking/media, specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, as a way to share educational resources, to curate educational content, to enhance the classroom experience, to share and promote College spirit, to market and promote the College as an educational venue of value and to connect with students and parents - current, past and future.

While social networking is a valuable resource for the College, it is acknowledged there are risks to consider when using these tools. The College further acknowledges that in the social media sphere, there are indistinct lines between what is public or private, personal or professional. The College also acknowledges that many students, staff, and parents and other family members hold personal social networking accounts which they might use to discuss/share views about school issues with friends and acquaintances.

It is expected that:

  • Students, parents/guardians and staff follow the same rules for responsible behaviour and respectful conduct online as in policy for offline.
  • Misuse of social media can result in disciplinary action.
  • St Rita’s makes a reasonable effort to ensure students’ safety and security online, but will not be held accountable for any harm or damages that result from misuse of social media technologies by students, staff or parents/guardians.

The College’s social networking/media guidelines and the College Community Code of Conduct should be considered by students, staff and parents/guardians before posting any information on social networking platforms about the College, its students, staff and/or parents/guardians or anyone else associated with the College.

Policies are available through MySRC.

Student Drivers

Students with a driver’s license whose parents allow them to drive to school are requested to notify the Principal’s Office.

All student drivers are to register their name and vehicle make, colour, and registration by emailing principal@stritas.qld.edu.au

Please note that students are not permitted to transport other students.

The College asks all drivers - staff, parents, and students - to cooperate by adhering to traffic and parking laws and ensuring access for local residents.

Student Movements - Absences, Late Arrivals, Early Departures, Withdrawal

Student Absences

The College must be informed of all student absences, including late arrivals and early departures.

When a student is absent, parents and caregivers are asked to notify the College of their child’s absence before 8:30am via the Online Absentee Form, accessible via MySRC. A medical certificate can be submitted via this form.

  • Emails or text messages to staff are not accepted as absentee notification.
  • The College will contact parents and caregivers via SMS regarding any unexplained absences.
  • The College must be notified for each day the student is away.

If, due to the absence, your child will be missing a Cocurricular Music lesson, ensemble rehearsal or Speech and Communication lesson, this can be indicated on the form and the relevant staff member will be notified. If your child has an assessment due on the day of absence, the assessment must still be submitted or delivered to the school as per the instructions on the assessment sheet. Any concerns should be emailed promptly to the class teacher.

Late Arrivals - Arriving after the first bell of the day

When a student arrives to school after the first bell of the day, they are required to report to Student Services in the Sacred Heart building to sign in at the Arrival/Departure Kiosk. Parents and caregivers will be notified via email of all late arrivals.

Early Departures - Leaving the College during the day

Students are not permitted to leave the College grounds during the day for medical appointments or any commitments without a parent or caregiver first notifying the College via the Online Absentee Form by 8.30am. Parents and caregivers must provide details including the expected departure time of their child and the mode of transport being used. Handwritten notes are not accepted.

Absentee Forms received after 8.30am may not be registered via the College Database with enough time to notify teachers that a student has permission to leave their classroom early resulting in departure delays.

At the time of departure, the student is required to report to Student Services where permission to leave is checked and once cleared, the student will be required to sign out via the Arrival/Departure Kiosk.

If a student leaves for only part of the day, the student is required to report to Student Services and sign in via the Arrival/Departure Kiosk on returning to the College.

Parents and caregivers will be notified via email when their child departs the College early. This email is required under the College’s Duty of Care to cross reference the departure with the parent in cases where their child has been picked up by an authorised person other than the parent or caregiver, or the student is driving independently.

If you are needing to collect a student during the day, please ring through to Student Services advising you are at school and Student Services staff will assist your student in signing out and they can then meet you at the gate.

Leave During School Term

We strongly encourage families to avoid taking leave during the school term, as it can significantly disrupt students’ learning progress and classroom continuity. Every school day counts, and consistent attendance is vital for academic success and social development.

Parents and Caregivers are asked not to request permission for their child to be taken out of school before the end of any Term, nor to commence a Term late for purposes such as holidays and celebrations. Permission will only be granted in very special circumstances via written application to the Principal. If a student is absent, there will be no access to an online learning platform.

Notice of Student Withdrawal

As per our Conditions of Enrolment, A full Term’s notice in writing must be given to the Principal before any student is withdrawn from the College. The notice must be given no later than one (1) week before the end of the preceding Term. This ensures a smooth transition process for both the student and the school. If this notice is not given, parents and carers agree to pay one (1) Term’s tuition fees.

"St Rita’s College has not only helped me to grow as a student, but as a person, and I can’t wait to continue my schooling here for years to come. One of the things that I most love about St Rita’s is its ability to engage and excite me with new experiences. By being involved with the College’s many incredible learning opportunities, I have made so many new connections and relationships – after all, it’s not just a school, it’s a community"

Parents and Friends

Parents and Friends

It takes an entire community working together with a common purpose to build a great school, and our active Parents & Friends’ Association, Music Support Group, and Sports SubCommittee remain deeply committed to supporting the College in its mission to inspire engaged learners, provide exceptional educational facilities and experiences for students, and to foster a sense of community for families.

The College and students also enjoy the support of Music and Sport Subcommittees whose members work tirelessly in support of the College community. This subcommittee structure provides an opportunity for more parents and guardians to contribute to areas suited to their interests and skills.

Through active participation in College celebrations, social events, fundraising initiatives, formal association meetings, support functions, alumnae events and volunteer opportunities, you can develop and maintain a sense of connection and provide a supportive network that enriches the educational journey for all in our College community.

Your willingness to give of your time and talents is appreciated and one way in which you can contribute to our community.

Alumnae

St Rita’s College alumnae ties provide a network of support that extends far beyond graduation day. These ties span not only across Australia but across the globe, not only across cohorts but year levels and are a testament to the transformative power of education and the friendships forged at St Rita’s College.

Each year many alumnae celebrate their connection to the College through class reunions, College tours, and informal catch ups.

Our alumnae carry with them a sense of action, with many excelling in their chosen path and returning to the College to extend a guiding hand to current students. Whether they are sharing their professional experience, providing mentorship or contributing to our cocurricular program, all students benefit from the collective wisdom and ongoing connection of our passionate alumnae.

Each year we welcome back many alumnae who reconnect with the College as current parents.

If any new parents and guardians are past pupils, or know of any past pupils interested in connecting with the Alumnae Committee, please contact the Alumnae team.
