St Rita’s College has a proud sporting tradition, with students achieving success across a wide range of sports each year. Our program supports physical health, wellbeing and personal growth, offering opportunities from early morning fitness to state and national competitions. Whether experienced or new to sport, every student is encouraged to get involved, challenge themselves and strive for their personal best.
Applications Open for 2026/27
The Sporting Excellence Program is St Rita's athlete development program, providing individualised training, education and performance support to help committed students reach their sporting goals.
Through access to high-quality resources, expert guidance and performance experiences, students are equipped with the tools to thrive in sport.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Program Cost
The Sporting Excellence Program costs $250 per term ($1,000 per year). This fee includes all strength and conditioning sessions, performance testing, educational opportunities and program events.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend regular strength and conditioning. Educational workshops and events are optional and designed to complement existing sporting commitments. There is no fee reduction for not attending.

Year-Round Support: access to recovery equipment, wellbeing monitoring, post-training nutrition, injury prevention and rehabilitation integration.
Eligibility
Students eligible to apply must be:
- Enrolled in Years 7–11 at SRC in 2026
- Driven to improve in their chosen sport
- Committed to participating in Strength and Conditioning
Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on athletic achievements, athletic potential and commitment to training. Where applicants demonstrate similar levels of achievement, selection will be prioritised by age.
Successful applicants will be notified in Week 10 of Term 3 and recognised at the Sports Celebration Evening on 7 October.

Strength and Conditioning Program
Our S&C Program is designed to complement both general fitness and specific sporting pursuits, the program focuses on building strength, improving overall conditioning, and supporting injury prevention for our Years 5 to 12 students. Whether a student is training for elite competition or simply aiming to stay active and healthy, the S&C Program enhances performance, promotes safe participation, and supports long-term wellbeing across all levels of sport.
