Assistant Chef Employment

Full-time | 2026 contract

About the Role

The Assistant Chef works collaboratively with the Pantry Convenor and volunteers to deliver efficient daily operations and high-standard food service. The role requires strong organisational skills, experience preparing food for large numbers, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene practices.

Regular work hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm with some flexibility required.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, cook and present wholesome meals for students and staff
  • Assist with menu planning, stock ordering and volunteer supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organised kitchen and service area
  • Operate the cash register and assist with barista work (training provided)
