Teacher Pathway Program

The Teacher Pathway Program was implemented at St Rita's College in 2021 with the aim to enhance the capabilities, capacities and practical experience for pre-service teachers by providing opportunities to integrate theoretical knowledge with professional practice.

The program sees pre-service teachers employed as Teacher Aides one day per week for a full school year to enhance their readiness for full-time employment as teachers. The pre-service teacher meets regularly with a school-based mentor who facilitates activities that are linked to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
