The St Rita's Netball community is abuzz with excitement following the appointment of the College's two new Heads of Netball, Queensland Firebirds players Gretel Bueta and Lara Dunkley. 

St Rita's College Director of Sport, Mr Dane Robinson, said the star duo had the skills, passion and expertise to even further enhance the College's Netball program. 

"This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, grow and support Netball within the College; Lara and Gretel bring with them a high level of knowledge and experience and importantly, are role models that students can look up to," Mr Robinson said. 

"Importantly, their vision for the program, along with their enthusiasm and passion, aligns perfectly with that of the College."

Gretel Bueta is a former basketball star, twice named in the Suncorp Super Netball's team of the year (2018 and 2019), as well as being awarded the highest honour in Netball in Australia, the Liz Ellis Diamond. 

Lara Dunkley, an all-round mid-court player, enters the 2021 season after being selected in the Australian A Development Squad. She also holds a Bachelor of Education.
