Cakes

Let's Eat Cake...

Carnival Cake Drop Off Day is Saturday 24 July (the day before Carnival) from 7:00am-3:30pm. Please mark this in your diary.

Are you able to help tag and pack cakes on this day? Please email Vanessa De Angelis or Karen Brennan at carnival@stritas.qld.edu.au if you can help us out, even if just for an hour. We'd love your help.

Or can you bake for the Carnival Cake stall? Whole cakes - all the traditional favourites - plus sponges and fruitcakes are great sellers, as are loaves and biscuits, slices and muffins. Don't forget the Gluten Free and Vegan offerings, as well as the items that are a little bit special such as fancy biscuits, decorated cupcakes, novelty cakes, or even treats we haven't seen for years that Mum or Grandma used to make us.

If you need a box, just email Vanessa De Angelis and Karen Brennan at carnival@stritas.qld.edu.au and drop-off can be organised for you at Student Services.

Plants

Plants of all shapes and sizes gratefully received! Bring In Day for plants is Saturday 24 July. Please come to the Tennis Court or bring them in on Carnival Day. Seedlings, potted plants, established plants, roses, azaleas, gardenias, daisies... everything is welcome!

Sweets

Fudge makers unite … along with everyone else with a flair for sweet-tooth cooking! Bring out your sugar, chocolate, coconut, condensed milk and impress us ... your mouth watering yum-yums are wanted for the Carnival Sweet Stall!

Fudges, Caramels, Mint Slice, Coconut Ice, Chocolate Slice, Coconut Slice, Pecan Slice, Brownies, and all the usual favourites.

You can deliver to the St Rita's College Staff Kitchen on Saturday 24 July from 8:00am - 3:30pm. Our amazing Sweet Stall volunteers will slice and pack, but please include a list of ingredients with your goodies.

So grab your wooden spoon, indulge us with those centuries-old treats and ensure the tradition of a sweet-tooth remains alive.

Please send a quick email to carnival@stritas.qld.edu.au if you can assist with the making of sweets. Thank you.

Bring-In Morning

The Carnival Bring In Morning for Books, Wine, Beer and Clothes is on Saturday 17 July.

  • Donations of Clothes for the Pre-Loved Clothes stall can be accepted if items have been washed/pressed or dry-cleaned and are neatly folded.
  • Donations of Books for the Book Stall can be accepted if items are clean and in saleable condition.
  • Wine and Beer of all varieties and quantities for the Bar and Wine Wheel are gratefully accepted, as are Dan Murphy's or BWS gift cards.
  • The College is not hosting a Trash N Treasure stall this year and as such items in this category will not be accepted.

Entry via Stafford Street only directly into Nagle Building Car Park for drop off point.

Please note: Plants for the Plant Stall cannot be accepted on this Bring In morning as the College has no suitable storage. Plants will be gratefully received on Saturday 24 July from 10:30am onwards to the Tennis Court area.

Set Up Pack Up Volunteers

It’s hardly work when we have a laugh doing it! There's lots to do in getting Carnival up and running and everyone can get on board. Trojans are needed on Saturday 24 July from 7:00am - 12:00am for Set Up, and Sunday 25 July for Pack Up from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Just a couple of hours or more would be great. On Saturday, enjoy a BBQ breakfast from the Sports Subcommittee. Click here to sign up to help out.
